“Recapturing the Past”: Taiwan Radio Broadcasting

This interactive experience evokes Taiwanese collective memories of the past when people used to gather around radios.

Tracked down scattered, long-lost radio archives across institutions and resolved complex copyright issues to bring them back to life.

Overview

By manually rotating the radio dial, visitors can engage in a sound experience accompanied by curated audio clips and textual introductions from various eras. This interactive experience evokes the collective memories of the past when people used to gather around radios. It also allows individuals to perceive the changing roles of radio as a medium throughout different time periods and its relationship with the societal developments of each era.
