Real AIstate

Using MidJourney and DALL-E 3 in ChatGPT, the project designs interior spaces that begin as visual images and evolve into three-dimensional sculptural installations, eventually transforming into a live performance format. These strategies are used to reveal how developers, interior designers and consumers construct, manipulate and project their desire to each other in the industry.

Looking for a dream house?

The work explores how our material desires for physical spaces are projected into both online and offline advertisements, and how these advertisements, in turn, shape our perceptions of these objects, essentially solidifying our sense of happiness within them.

  • Alternative Ideal Home

The room tour video where I perform as a “super broker” in a parody style, also functions as an advertisement for the “dream home.” It draws on text data from site hoardings, video games, Instagram, and ChatGPT, turning these sources into prompts written in the logic that I design for AI tools—Midjourney and DALL-E 3. This process generates scenes that feel both familiar and uncanny, reflecting society’s collective desires.

  • Marketing Suite

A video installation combined with a 1 to 2 scale corner space model in terms of one of the AI-generated virtual scenes in the video, Alternative Ideal Home, and merged with the video itself.

The audience is positioned as participants in the act of viewing the property which is under construction. Before the performance starts, they will be asked to wear safety hats and receive the brochure of the property floor plan from me.

The live intervention is an intermittent performance, being held by the window corner in the Fifteen Show 2024 in the Bartlett School.
